4. Proj. Description

This project is to provide the new VOC recovery system for TSMC Kaohsiung plant existing MT-306A/B Benzene storage tanks, which includes Engineering design, Procurement and Construction (EPC) scopes. Based on data and requirements given by the Client, Mascol shall proceed assessment and basic design to recover the VOC from MT-306A Tank to new built water seal drum; finally it will be delivered to existing Boiler for burning off to comply with the VOC emission regulations issued by local EPA. This project shall fullfully understand the characteristic of various tanks’ products and related basic designed data; then, according to TSMS’s requirement and specifications, to proceed all necessary revamping for the existing process and facilities. The revamping works include: civil works, steel structures, new equipments, pipings, control system, electric power, thermal insulation, fire fighting works.

5. Major construction item:

  The new MT-306A storage tank VOC recovery piping system started from the existing

Flame Arrester and connected to the new Buffer Tank Inlet Nozzle Flange. This segment of

VOC piping shall have a tie-in nozzle with shut off valve and blind flange for MT-306B

storage tank VOC piping connection in the future.

  The new MT-306A VOC recovery piping system shall have its own Flame Arrester/

pressure control/explosion proof inverter ID Fan/PT/PG/check valve and monitoring system.

  Buffer Tank x 1 and Water Seal Drum x 1.

  The new built Water Seal Drum down stream the new Buffer Tank shall have additional

sufficient volume capacity to handle the total VOC flow rate recovered from another seven

tanks in the future, and the recovered common VOC trunk pipe line size down stream the

Water Seal Drum shall also consider the total VOC flow rate with sufficient capacity to be

delivered to the existing Boiler Fans inlet common Header for burning off.

  Overall VOC recovered pipings, civil works, steel structures, supports, instruments and

controls, electric power, control box and panel, wiring, cables, sandblasting and painting

works, and to cooperate with the Client for whole system testing and commissioning.
