1. Proj. Name：CPCT No.1 Reformer Sour Water Stripping System Replacement

Turn-Key Project

2. Client：CPC Tao-yuan Refinery

3. Proj. Period：Nov. 2023∼Oct. 2025

4. Proj. Description：

This project is designed to strip the Sour Water collected from Refining Dept. I&II, and it can handle 30T/h Capacity.  After stripping, the recovered gases are sent to Sulfur Recovery Units and stripped water from stripper bottom pumped to Topping #1/#2 Desalters for reuse in order to significantly reduce Industrial Water usage.  If compared with the existing SWS System of No.1 Reformer / Zone 625 area, the NH₃ concentration in stripped water can be decreased with 35.5%, and ITB required specifications of H₂S≦5ppmw & NH₃≦20ppmw can be complied.

5. Major construction item：

◆  Sour Water Stripper x 1 Unit, incl. 1,700mm ID x 45 Trays w/spacing 600mm and

internals (mat’l：S.S. 321).  The top head and top part of shell of trays #1 to #20 shall

be cladded plate of A-263 (Base metal of A-285 w/3mm 410 S.S. Cr steel cladded plate).

◆  Feed/Effluent Exchangers A/B x 1 Unit, Reboiler x 1 Unit, Trim Cooler x 1 Unit (Tubes

mat’l：316L S.S.).

◆  Overhead Air Cooled Condenser A/B x 1 Unit (mat’l：Alloy 825), w/VFD Explosion-

proof T3 Motors.

◆  Surge Drum w/inclined paralled plates of Coalescer (mat’l：316L S.S.) x 1 Unit.

◆  Overhead Reflux Drum x 1 Unit & Steam Condensate Pot x 1 Unit.

◆  API A8 S.S. Centrifugal Pumps x 7 sets w/Double Mech. Seals as per API 682

(incl. Explosion-proof  T3 Motors).

◆  6” Static Mixer (mat’l：316L S.S.) x 1 set & H.P. Steam Desuperheater x 1 set

(incl. Pressure Reducing Valve).

◆  For Vessels / Drums / Heat Exchangers in NACE Sour Service, the requirement

specified in NACE Std. MR0103 shall be followed.  And full killed carbon steel (C.A.

6mm for AB6S or BB6S) shall be used for NACE Sour Service.

◆  On-line Analyzers (NH₃-N) x 2 Sets, Field Sampling System x 4 Sets, H₂S Gas

Detector x 9 Sets, Digital Colour CCTV x 4 Sets.

◆  Geological Drilling Investigation, Civil Foundation, steel structure w/Fire-Proofing,

Operation Platforms, Piping Supports, relative Applications for Government Permits &

Construction Licenses.

◆  All required PV/FV/LV/TV Control Valves & PSV Valves, all FE/FT/PT/TE/TT/LT

instruments (Gauges) for Flow, Pressure, Temperature, Level Controls.

◆  Power Equipment incl. MCC Panels, Site Explosion-proof Lighting Fixtures, Grounding,

Communication, Power Cables & Conduits.
